For some time now we have been working hard towards an important scale up in our Pure and Just journey. After almost 6 years of continuous effort, learning, and collaboration (and 2 months pushing out our biggest export orders to date!) we are thrilled to announce the launch of our new state-of-the-art factory.
On Thursday 12th September, Pure and Just, in partnership with USAID Ghana, launched our new export-focused dried fruits processing facility. With support from USAID, we are excited to advance our goals of creating more jobs, supporting over 1,500 farmers, and boosting exports.
We had the pleasure of receiving distinguished guests, valued partners, and colleagues at our new Gakope site in Doboro (closely bordering Nsawam in Ghana’s Eastern Region) to celebrate this milestone. The launch event included words from co-founders Yvette and Emmanuel, factory tours led by the Head of Manufacturing Jonas Sebigbon, and an address from the USAID/Ghana Acting Mission Director Grace Lang.
Ms Lang shared the following during the opening ceremony,
“U.S. government efforts are boosting agricultural productivity, increasing local ownership and strengthening businesses right here in the Eastern Region and across Ghana. Pure and Just is a shining example of how such investments can unlock Ghana’s economic and agricultural potential.”
A very special appreciation goes to USAID for their unwavering support in making this facility a reality.
This facility represents our collective commitment to innovation, sustainability, and community development. At Pure and Just our central mission is to harness the power of agribusiness to build robust financial foundations. With this processing site alone we have created 73 direct jobs and will continue to purchase and process hundreds of tonnes of fresh fruit annually – generating half a million dollars in annual revenue for Ghanaian farmers.
We are grateful to all our supporters, including True Foundry Inc., the Anton Jurgens Fond, the Belgian Business Partnership Facility, Fidelity Bank, the Ghana Climate Innovation Centre (GCIC), and GIZ for their support over the last six years. We look forward to a future of continued collaboration and success as we grow and continue to contribute to the global market.
